The researchers detailed the algorithm\u2019s mechanics in a study published October 22 in the journal <em>Nature<\/em>.\u200b<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cQuantum algorithms guide quantum computers to solve problems efficiently, much like software drives classical computing,\u201d Xiao Mi, a Google Quantum AI research scientist who led the work, told <em>Live Science<\/em> via email. \u201cFor either classical or quantum computing to solve future problems, both software and hardware must exist and work in tandem.\u201d\u200b<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">While the first study proved Quantum Echoes\u2019 quantum advantage, the team also sought to show its practical utility.
